Laurie is a Pre-Kindergarten teacher and has been teaching at New Life Preschool since 2001. What she loves about teaching most is watching the children progress and grow. Seeing how excited and proud they are when they accomplish a goal or master a skill. It is a wonderful blessing to be part of.
When she isn’t teaching, Laurie loves to be outdoors hiking and biking
with her family. Laurie attended Cuesta College for a few years where she acquired General Education and Early Childhood Development units towards her Associate in Arts Degree.
Laurie’s favorite bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

Besides children, one of Michelle’s other passion’s in life is animals and has been involved with animal rescue at Woods Humane Society. She also took a Veterinary Assistant course through Cal Poly.
Michelle’s favorite bible verse is
1 Corinthians 13:4-8
4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8Love never fails.
Lynsey is currently attending Allan Hancock College. She will receive her AA in early childhood studies, December 2017. She has always had a love for working with children. When she was 18 she got a job as a personal Aide with a 10-year-old boy who had special needs. She worked with him on his emotional regulation skill, receptive/expressive language, self help skills and many other areas. He was developmentally at a preschool learning level.
She learned a lot from this experience, and realized she wanted to be a preschool teacher. Before coming to New Life she worked at a daycare for two years. She has been a Christian her whole life. She currently attends Five Cities Vineyard in Arroyo Grande. She feels so blessed to be apart of New Life preschool.
When she is not at New Life, Lynsey like to go for hikes, read books, bake and spend time with friends and family.
Sierra Day attends Cuesta College and has planned on becoming a teacher since she could remember. Sierra has always had a passion for teaching others and helping young minds achieve things they didn’t know was possible. Sierra will be graduating in 2017 with her Liberal Arts and Humanities degree and hopes to transfer to either Cal Poly or Grand Canyon University.
When not working at New Life, Sierra works as a cook and enjoys hiking with her dogs, reading, and puzzling. Her favorite colors are natural greens and blues. Sierra has worked with kids since she was old enough to hold one. She believes no child is to young to experience the awesome love and mercy of God and enjoys teaching the gospel to anyone willing to listen. She loves nature, exercise, and believes a child’s happiness is best found in and nurtured through outdoor activities rather than screen time.
Two of Sierra’s favorite verses are John 15:13, “He whom has no greater love than this is to lay down one’s life for a friend.” and Proverbs 31:25, “She is clothed with strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the future.”
