Director
Courtney grew up in Northern California and moved to San Luis Obispo in 2010
to attend Cal Poly. She graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development. She began working at the Cal Poly Preschool Lab as a student
and that is where she fell in love with preschool. She believes children are a gift
and it is a privilege to watch them learn and grow.
When Courtney isn’t teaching, she enjoys spending time with her friends and
family, reading, and going to concerts. One of her favorite things about teaching
is watching children discover new things about themselves and the world around them.
Courtney’s favorite bible verse is Matthew 5:16, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
Kim O'Farroll-Soto
Assistant Director
Kim has been an educator for more than 30 yrs. She first began her education in child development at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo.
While growing up in Atascadero and attending St. Williams Catholic Church for more than 40 yrs Kim was called on to teach Sunday pre-school classes after enrolling her two young sons Scott and Sean. Over the next 16 yrs she welcomed 2 more sons Brandon and Jarod and went on to teach pre-school,first communion, vacation bible school, junior high alive ,high school youth group and confirmation classes and all of this in her spare time.
Kim’s work experience during these yrs was working at various Paso Robles and Atascadero school sites as a special education para-educator for ages p-12th grade. She also worked with at risk youth and has worked with disabled adults at Casa Davida and Creative Alternative for Living and Learning as a supervisor.
In her free time Kim enjoys spending time with her grown sons and grandkids. Going to music concerts and planning trips with her husband John. Long coastal walks and healthy meal prepping. She devotes time monthly to the ALS West coast chapter an organization near and dear to her heart.
Kim’s favorite bible verse is -PHILLIPIANS 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, But in every situation, By prayer and Petition, With Thanksgiving, Present your requests to God, And the Peace of God, Which Transcends all Understanding, Will Guard your Hearts and your Minds in Christ Jesus.”
