Courtney Crosson
Preschool
Director

Courtney grew up in Northern California and moved to San Luis Obispo in 2010

to attend Cal Poly. She graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development. She began working at the Cal Poly Preschool Lab as a student

and that is where she fell in love with preschool. She believes children are a gift

and it is a privilege to watch them learn and grow.

When Courtney isn’t teaching, she enjoys spending time with her friends and

family, reading, and going to concerts. One of her favorite things about teaching

is watching children discover new things about themselves and the world around them.

Courtney’s favorite bible verse is Matthew 5:16, “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

Kaitlyn Poorman
Assistant Director/
Inclusion Specialist

Kaitlyn Poorman has grown up on the Central Coast and feels incredibly blessed that such a beautiful place is her home. She has had a passion for children ever since she was a little girl and would babysit with her mother. She believes loving on children is crucial to their growth, and that we learn from them just as much as they learn from us. They teach us to be fearless and love with open hearts.

Kaitlyn is happiest when around children, and when surrounded by gigantic trees. When not at New Life, she is going on road trips to new places with her husband and challenging herself to new activities (or new foods).

Kaitlyn is currently obtaining her degree in Strategic Communications, and attended Allan Hancock for a few years where she acquired General Education and Early Childhood Development units towards her Associate in Arts Degree.

Kaitlyn's favorite bible verse is Romans 5:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
